Something feels heavier than it used to. Therapy is a space to get curious about where that weight came from.
About
Something feels heavier than it used to. You have been managing and working around it for a long time, and you are tired of wondering if it is really yours to keep. It shows up in the exhaustion of keeping up, in the doubt and overthinking that follow you home, in the self-criticism and quiet disconnection that are hard to name. The ways you have learned to cope make sense when we understand the context behind them. They often began as ways of adapting, protecting, or getting through.
I provide attachment- and trauma-informed therapy for adolescents and adults (12+), integrating ACT, CBT, person-centred therapy, parts work (IFS-informed), and nervous system-based approaches. My work is especially suited to people who struggle to slow down, set boundaries, or stay connected to their own needs. I also support neurodivergent clients (ADHD/ASD), parents and caregivers, and offer a limited number of child-led, play-based therapy spaces for children ages 8 to 12.
In sessions, I direct curiosity toward the patterns and parts that have been working hard to protect you, and we explore together what they might be ready to let go of. Work is collaborative and paced, supporting insight, emotional regulation, and deeper change rooted in both mind and body. I hold an Honours BA in Psychology from the University of Ottawa and an MA in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University, and I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario.
You do not need to have everything figured out before reaching out. The first step is not having all the answers; it is being willing to turn toward what you have been working around for so long. I offer a free 15-minute consultation, and I am available Monday through Thursday in the afternoons and evenings, in person in Stittsville or online via Jane.
