Therapy that goes beyond talking: practical tools, real change, rooted in nursing and trauma expertise.
About
Before becoming a psychotherapist, I spent years as a Registered Nurse in the ICU and Emergency Room. Those high-stakes environments taught me how to stay grounded in a crisis and gave me a deep, practical understanding of how our nervous systems respond to stress and trauma. That background shapes everything I do in the therapy room. I'm not just here to listen. I'm here to teach you how your brain and body work, help you make sense of why you respond the way you do, and give you real tools you can actually use.
My approach is grounded in Integrated Modular Therapy, drawing from EMDR, IFS, DBT, somatic and sensorimotor work, and psychedelic-assisted therapies. I also weave in psychoeducation on neurobiology, mindfulness, and nervous system regulation, because understanding what's happening inside you is often the first step to changing it. I work with clients who feel stuck in old patterns and beliefs that no longer serve them, whether that's rooted in trauma, anxiety, depression, addiction, or personality disorders that have been hard to treat.
I also work with families from a trauma-informed lens, helping everyone move beyond conflict toward deeper, more secure connection. My style is warm, collaborative, and pretty direct. Clients often tell me it feels like talking to a friend who actually knows their stuff. I bring enthusiasm to the work, especially when it comes to explaining the science behind what you're experiencing. There's no shame in any of it. It makes sense, and together we can figure out a path forward.
I offer in-person sessions in Central Ottawa and Barrhaven, as well as online. I'm available days, evenings, and weekends, and I'm currently accepting new clients. If you're ready to feel empowered and create meaningful change, reach out for a consultation. Let's build something real.
