About
I believe you are not your past. When you're struggling with anxiety, disconnection, or feeling stuck in a life that isn't what you hoped for, it can be hard to pinpoint what's keeping you from moving forward. In our work together, we unravel the connections between your history and your current struggles, examining your upbringing, cultural norms, and the conflict you may feel between how you're supposed to be living and how you actually want to live. Your feelings are valid, and you deserve a space where that truth is honored.
With over 30 years of experience in the corporate sector and with my second career as a Licensed Registered Psychotherapist, I bring a client-centered, holistic approach grounded in talk therapy, CBT, narrative therapy, and trauma-informed care. I work with adults 18+ navigating anxiety, depression, intergenerational trauma, stress, burnout, and identity challenges, with a particular focus on immigrant communities and specializing in Caribbean, Indo-Caribbean and South Asian immigrant communities. I trust in the heart of authentic conversation, and I trust in your capacity to thrive.
Coming from a place of deep empathy and genuine warmth, I hold space for the stories you only tell yourself. That's a lot to carry alone. In our sessions, I help you develop your inner knowledge, gently challenge the thinking patterns that keep you stuck, and equip you with practical tools to keep moving forward. This is your journey, and taking even a small step is still a step in the right direction.
My Shanti Space also offers an Affordable Therapy Program, where graduate-level therapists with lived experience in BIPOC and immigrant communities provide culturally responsive, clinically supervised care at a lower cost. Whether you work with me or one of my associates, you will be met exactly where you are, with compassion, cultural sensitivity, and deep respect.

Frequently asked questions
- Do you offer evenings and weekends?
- Yes. I hold a few evening slots and Saturday mornings open up biweekly.
- What do you specialize in?
- I specialize working with many different immigrant communities, as well as from Caribbean, Indo-Caribbean and South Asian backgrounds. Specifically, helping clients go from survival mentality to revival mentality. Creating awareness and breaking cultural cycles in 1st and 2nd generations immigrant Canadians
- What does a first session with you look like?
- I work with you to understand what is bringing you into therapy, sometimes it takes alot in our life to finally get us to make this decision. As you describe what has brought you here, we will explore your symptoms, behaviors, thoughts and emotions of what is currently going on. From there we will take an assessment of your life pulling from main areas to understand who you are foundationally as a person and as we learn about what you are looking for in therapy. Alot of this work forward will be a mix of talk therapy, learning tools and techniques as well as psychoeducation on topics that stem from what you are experiencing. Then we will be able to have a fuller picture to work towards the therapy goals you will achieve in our sessions.
- Who do you typically work best with?
- People who have experienced stress, burnout, anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, family and relationship issues, self worth, self esteem, identity, 1st and 2nd generation community, Indo-Caribbean.
