Biblically faithful and clinically informed counseling.

About

Jane is a Christian Counselor who counsels with an open Bible during the session. She is not simply a counselor who happens to be a Christian. She intentionally provides Christ-centered counseling that lets God's Word shape every part of the healing journey.

Jane is a licensed clinical professional counselor in Illinois and Missouri, having nearly 30 years of experience helping adults navigate anxiety, grief, trauma, compulsive behaviors, and emotional pain.

She brings clarity and structure to counseling by translating Scripture and psychological concepts into practical steps people can follow. Rather than leaving clients with insight but no clear direction, she helps them understand what is happening, why they respond the way they do, and what to do next. Her approach blends biblical truth with clinical skill. She understands anxiety patterns, nervous system responses, and behavior cycles, while keeping Scripture as the foundation. This allows her to address both the heart and the body without reducing every struggle to either a spiritual problem or a psychological diagnosis.

If you're ready to discover who God is, where He is in your story, and who you are in Christ, I'd be honored to walk alongside you. ~ Jane

Frequently asked questions

What happens during the first session?
The first session gives me time to understand what brought you to counseling, what has been happening in your life, and what you want help with. I will ask questions about your current struggles, relationships, history, faith, and patterns you have noticed. You do not need to know exactly where to start. We will begin with what is weighing on you most and work from there.
Will you tell me what to do?
I am a fairly direct counselor. I will listen, but I will also help you identify patterns, beliefs, behaviors, and choices that may be keeping you stuck. My goal is not to make decisions for you. My goal is to help you understand what is happening and give you practical steps for moving forward.
What if I already know what the Bible says, but I still struggle?
Knowing biblical truth and learning to live from biblical truth are different parts of growth. You might know God is sovereign and still struggle with control. You might know God is with you and still experience fear. Counseling helps us examine the gap between what you know, what you believe in the moment, and how you respond.
Is your counseling biblical or psychological?
Both are part of my work, but Scripture is the foundation. I have nearly 30 years of clinical counseling experience, so I understand anxiety, OCD, trauma responses, grief, nervous system reactions, relationship patterns, and behavior cycles. I use what is helpful from clinical training while evaluating everything through Scripture. Biblical truth has the final authority.
Will I have homework?
Yes. I want the work we do in session to continue during the week. Homework might include reading a passage of Scripture, noticing a thought or behavior pattern, practicing a new response, journaling about a specific question, setting a boundary, or resisting a reassurance-seeking behavior with OCD.
How involved will my faith be in counseling?
If you are seeking Christian counseling with me, we'll include your relationship with God in our work. We might read Scripture, pray together, examine beliefs about God, discuss spiritual struggles, or look at how biblical truth applies to what you are facing. I do not treat faith as a small addition to therapy. It shapes the foundation of how I understand people, suffering, responsibility, hope, and change.
