Helping teens and families move through anxiety, eating concerns, and conflict with practical skills and real support.

About

I work with adolescents and families navigating anxiety, emotional overwhelm, eating concerns, and conflict at home. Many families feel stuck in cycles of distress, frustration, or disconnection and are looking for a way forward. At Kind Water Counselling & Wellness, I take a collaborative, non-blaming approach that helps both teens and parents feel understood while building the skills needed for meaningful, lasting change.

I'm a Registered Social Worker with 10 years of experience supporting teens and families in inpatient and outpatient settings. My work focuses on eating disorders, anxiety, and emotional regulation, drawing on training in CBT-E, Family-Based Treatment (FBT), and DBT-informed strategies. I also have experience working with First Nations, Inuit, and Métis communities. Early sessions are about understanding what's happening and building a clear, shared plan. From there, we go through practical tools together, work on skill-building, and, when helpful, bring parents into the process to support progress at home.

I use evidence-based approaches including CBT, CBT-E, FBT, and DBT-informed strategies. My style is structured and educational: we discuss goals, work through strategies step by step, and build on what's working. Being able to practice skills between sessions, stay organized, and communicate openly are all part of how lasting change happens. I also work with adolescents on executive functioning, problem-solving, and time management when those challenges are part of the picture.

Reaching out can feel like a big step, especially when things have been difficult for a while. You don't have to navigate this alone. I offer a supportive, compassionate space where we can work together toward meaningful change at a pace that feels manageable. I'm available weekdays and evenings, in person in Pickering and surrounding areas, and virtually across Ontario. Call or email for a free 15-minute consultation.
