Warm, curious, and gently challenging therapy for real life in Wasaga Beach.

About

I've lived in the Wasaga Beach area for over 20 years and can't imagine being anywhere else. Outside of work, you'll find me outdoors with my husband, our two teenagers, and our dog Doug. I believe in the importance of community and the power of spending time in nature.

My background is diverse. I've worked with young offenders, at-risk youth, families in child protection, and individuals across the lifespan facing a variety of challenges while in private practice. More recently, I built a peer support network for parents and caregivers of children with developmental and behavioural challenges. I also ran a weekly art therapy program at a local addictions facility for several years. My work has taught me a lot about what people can accomplish when they feel genuinely accepted in a non-judgemental, kind, and curious therapeutic relationship.

In sessions, I draw on a wide range of approaches and adapt based on what works for the person in front of me. My style is warm and direct, and I've been told that I'm not afraid to name a pattern or gently offer a challenge when it's useful! I firmly believe in the power of psychoeducation to help drive the process of change. Understanding how the nervous system works, looking into what a formal diagnosis means, or exploring what's driving a stuck feeling allows my clients to take ownership of their lives and to continue growing long after therapy has finished.

I'm a Registered Psychotherapist (RP) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and a Professional Art Therapist with the Ontario Art Therapy Association (OATA). I am accepting new clients and offer a free 15-minute introductory session so you can get a sense of how I work and decide whether we could work well together.
